Out of Work Contractors
A reader sent us this, about out of work contractors, as feedback and we thought it is worth passing on:-
Please can you advise all IT contractors who are out of work that, even if they are ineligible to claim benefits from the DSS that they should still sign on to get their National Insurance contributions to credit whilst they are not working.
This will hopefully mean (if there is any money when they get to retirement age) that they will still qualify for a full state pension.
And it gets them on to the statistics which say how many IT workers are out of work. This has to help the feeling that there is not a skills shortage.
