Silly Games of Agencies
An agency, playing silly games, told me that he sent my CV forward for a contract.
Now another agency says that they want to put me forward and, after checking, have found out that my CV had not been put forward after all.
I don‘t really know which one is lying – or do all agencies lie?

This happens a lot.
What is likely to have happened is that there are several agencies involved here and each has been told to put a maximum of two or three of their best CVS forward.
The first agency has most likely put their best two or three forward but to keep the path clear for them they have told other contractors who have contacted them that they have put them forward for the contract.
Then the contractor will tell their rival agencies that they have already been put forward.
That’s how this game works.
CV Forward
I would tend to believe the second agency.
After all, why would they want to put forward as one of their two or three picks, someone who another agency put forward?
It doesn‘t make sense.
What I would do is to email the 2nd agency giving them permission to put your CV forward – provided no one else already put it forward.
You‘ve nothing to lose then.
Agency Tricks
As a contractor, one always has to look out for agency tricks and silly games.
If the first agency complains you can point out that they hadn’t actually put you forward at all for the contract.
You have to have a long spoon to sup with some of these dodgier agencies.
They are up to all the tricks.
